IWS 2022 SPRING MINIATURE SHOW - PROSPECTUS

On-line Registration opens January 15, 2022, and closes February 8, 2022, at midnight.  

All registration entries must be compliant with the following Prospectus information.

Eligibility - Review all Requirements Carefully.

1. IWS Members Only (visit iowawatercolorsociety.org to become a member)

2. Original Artwork Only
    2a. Only done by you

    2b. No copies of others artwork
    2c. No work completed in workshops or with an instructor
    2d. No copies of published photos

3. Recent Work
    3a. Create in the last two years
    3b. Not previously shown in an IWS show

4. Medium 
    4a.  Watercolor paint and other mediums such as ink, watercolor pencils,
           watercolor brushes, gouache paint, etc.
    4b.  Any paper acceptable such as Yupo, rice paper, etc. 

    4c. Other techniques acceptable such as collages

 

5. Presentation

    5a. Maximum frame size not to exceed 8" x 10"

    5b. Wired and ready to hang

    5c. Paintings recommended to be protected by non-breakable acrylic glazing (i.e. Plexiglas)

 

6. Entries must be submitted online by the entry deadline noted

 

7. Each artist may submit 1 or 2 paintings

8. The entry fee of $5.00 for each artwork is payable on the check in date

 

9. The miniature show is open to the first 80 pieces of art submitted

TERMS
Sales:
All sales will be handled by the artist. A 10% donation of all sales is requested and should be made to the Johnston Public Library. Sold artwork must remain on display until the exhibit closes. If not for sale, check NFS on the entry. Paintings are not insured by the Johnston Public Library or the Iowa Watercolor Society. It is at the discretion of the artist to provide their own insurance. 

Agreement:
Iowa Watercolor Society will assume the privilege of photographing, using any submission photos of paintings, or paintings entered in the exhibition for the purpose of publicity or reproduction in the exhibition catalogue, the IWS website, the IWS Facebook page or other IWS social media pages. The Iowa Watercolor Society reserve the right to reject any work that arrives damaged.

 

 

Noncompliance with these Requirements may result in works being disqualified.
