Workshop Description

Join Dale L. Popovich for an exclusive 3-day workshop, where he will provide step-by-step instruction in transparent watercolor. With this immersive paint-along experience, you will have the opportunity to watch and recreate what has been painted. Dale strongly encourages his students to ask questions while he paints and allows you to take photos along the way. You will gain invaluable knowledge on how to build a painting from start to finish, with a focus on large patterns of light and dark inspired by nature. Through a comprehensive understanding of this unique medium’s techniques, properties, and tools, you will be able to explore the beauty of nature with newfound confidence and ability. Dale covers all four seasons, providing a deep understanding of color, temperature, intensity and, most importantly, value. This workshop is tailored for artists of all levels.* You will complete four paintings using Dale’s personal photo references. By the end of the workshop, you will leave with a new level of confidence, ability, and understanding of transparent watercolor. Remember to bring your camera and get ready for an intensive and rewarding learning experience!

*A basic understanding of watercolor is required.
